Affordable Php99 Sunblock? QuickFX Sunblock Review

QuickFX Review, Swatch, and Wear Test

I admit I'm not entirely a sunblock person. I tend to skip sunblock or sunscreen before heading out in the daytime. It's a bad habit, to be honest. But I try my best to fix it - and little by little, incorporate it into my daily routine. And so, I bought QuickFX Sunblock with SPF 50 PA+++ to familiarize myself more to the world of sunblocks/suncreens.

Since I'm still new to this sunblock routine, I bought QuickFX Sunblock because it is the most affordable sunblock that I could find at Watsons. Because it is packaged in a sachet, I can take it anywhere I go without the hassle of carrying a whole bottle of sunblock. From what I read on the internet, the ideal reapplication of sunblock and sunscreens should be every 2 hours. Just in case I'll be out in the middle of the day and I'm not wearing any base makeup, then it's handy to have a sunblock in my bag.

QuickFX Review, Swatch, and Wear Test

QuickFX Sunblock has Niacinamide, AdenosineZin Oxide, Lotus Flower, BSASM, Herb Extracts, and SPF 50 PA+++. Let's break down what are the benefits of these ingredients:

Niacinamide - Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and strengthen a weakened surface.

Niacinamide also reduces the impact of environmental damage because of its ability to improve skin’s barrier (its first line of defense), plus it also plays a role in helping skin to repair signs of past damage. Left unchecked, this type of daily assault makes skin appear older, dull, and less radiant.

Adenosine - per the packaging, this helps prevent skin aging and improves skin resilience by promoting the synthesis of collagen.

Zinc Oxide - helps repair damaged, dry and wounded skin better. Aside from its healing properties, it also allows better absorption of active ingredients needed by the skin.

Lotus Flower - full of vitamin C, B complex, antioxidants and a list of minerals that lead to a more nourished and brighter complexion. Natural products infused with lotus can not only help control our sebum production, balance out oily skin but, can hydrate and improve elasticity as well.

BSASMMultiEx BSASM™ is a safe and effective agent for skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis or acne. It consists of 7 kinds of plant extracts. It shows strong soothing, anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory efficacies. It has been a best-selling product of BioSpectrum since 2009.

HERB Extracts - per the packaging, it's effective in tightening the skin for a reduced appearance of pores.

SPF 50 - The SPF of a product only relates to its protection from the UVB or “burning” rays. The SPF of a product does not mean it protects you from UVA or “aging” rays. SPF 50 protects you from 98% of the UVB “burning” rays that penetrate your skin.

PA+++ - SPF indicates the level of protection from UVB rays while PA indicates the level of protection from UVA rays. PA simply means Protection Grade of UVA rays, which is used to measure the SPF of a sunscreen. ... PA+++ is designed for normal skin that expose to very strong UV radiation.

A summary of what these ingredients mean is at the back of the packaging so you'll always be reminded of what skin benefits you are getting when wearing this sunblock.

I love how their 10g pouch is convenient to bring everywhere. It has a thin body and a plastic applicator with a secured cap. I never had a history with this product getting spilled inside my bag, even though there are heavier items that press upon it.

Product Swatch and Review
As I said earlier, sunblocks should be applied every 2 hours because it loses effectivity over time. But what if you are wearing full makeup outside and won't be able to reapply after 2 hours? Will this product perform well on oily skin? Will it produce white cast on photos with flash? Just keep reading to know my wear test review.

The product consistency is creamy to liquidy and it has a sheer, flesh color. I love that it's tinted. I don't need to worry about uneven face color. Don't worry, though. Even if it has this light, flesh color; this sunblock is sheer enough that it's like adjusting to your natural skin color.

I started wearing my makeup at around 6AM with QuickFX Sunblock as one of my base makeup before applying a makeup primer and pressed foundation. I love the finish of this sunblock. It is not sticky on my face. It dries matte and is easily absorbed by the skin. It also smells nice. It doesn't have a strong scent. Going back to the wear test, I wore this sunblock from 6AM, got to the airport, traveled from Manila to Bohol via plane - and at the destination, the weather is humid and the sun is up in the middle of the day.

At the destination, my face is already slightly oily. This is because I tried blotting my face on the plane before alighting the plane. I noticed that my blotting paper didn't get too much oil on my face. There is oil but the blotting paper is not soaked! My face doesn't feel sticky too. I used Gatsby Blotting Paper with Powder. That's enough to mattify my face so I didn't reapply any powder after.

After hours of traveling, I checked my face again at the resort. My face still looks glowing! I love how my face still doesn't look awkward even with the humid weather. I must say that this sunblock does a good job.

As you can on the above, it has white cast when photo is taken with flash. This is not for night or events use.

Final Thoughts
QuickFX Sunblock is perfect for everyday sunblock. I don't recommend it while going swimming though. You will need something more waterproof for swimming. This sunblock is just for blocking out sun rays while walking outside. When going swimming, I suggest buying thicker and opaque sunblocks.

Pros:
  • Performs well for those with oily skin
  • Matte finish
  • No sticky feeling upon wearing
  • Minimized pores
  • Sunblock tint doesn't alter skin color
  • Has ingredients with good skin benefits
  • Protects skin from UVB and UVA rays.
  • Affordable and available in major stores nationwide
  • Convenient to bring as it is packaged in a pouch
  • Secured applicator and lid
  • Perfect for everyday use

Cons:
  • Not waterproof
  • Too thin/sheer for heavy use (ex. Swimming)
  • No coverage at all
  • Has white cast
Where to Buy and Price
Price: Php99 for the 10g pouch
Will I repurchase? Yes! I love how convenient this sunblock is to put in any bag. I might not use it for swimming, but I will use this as one of my skincare products before putting on my makeup. This is perfect for city use or when you'll be exposed to the sun longer than usual.

Thank you so much for reading this review. As of this day, you know that we are having an international issue with COVID-19. Please take care and watch out for your health. I will be praying for your safety. Someday we'll get through this. Despite our current issue, I am wishing you good days ahead. See you on my next blog post!
