Careline Play to Slay Palette Review Packaging

I'm lazy when it comes to bringing a lot of makeup everyday. I pretty much have a small kikay kit that only includes a small loose powder or blotting sheets, lipstick, and compact bronzer. When I travel, as much as possible I bring with me palettes where there are eyeshadows, blush, bronzer and highlighter all-in-one. It's hard to find an all-in-one palette that has everything you need for eyes and face. When you do find something, it's usually expensive, or it's cheap but, they are not good quality.

Thank heavens! Careline introduced an all-in-one eye and face palette that looks really promising at an AFFORDABLE price. Now that I got to try this palette, I'll share with you a review on Careline's Play to Slay Palette if it'll deserve a spot on your everyday kikay kit.

Careline re-branded their packaging and I really love the minimal but, still playful design. Since Careline's target market are mostly teenagers and young adults, They incorporated shapes and patterns for a youthful touch and to make it more subtle, they used minimal colors.

Wearability
Eye shadows
I tested this eye shadow for a full day from 5AM to 7PM and oh my, they are amazing! I used the pink matte shade topped with the bronze shimmer, and it stayed on my hooded and oily lids the whole day. This is considering that I didn't wear an eye shadow primer that day and only used a setting spray to seal my makeup.

I usually bring this palette whenever I travel since I was able to utilize the eye shadows for my eyes and bronzer, blush for my cheeks, and highlighter to up my look. I can use this palette for every day as well as a glam makeup look.

Blushes
I love the two blushes it comes with. I usually top my gel blush from Ever Bilena with either of these blushes and my cheeks are pinkish the whole day too!

Note: A little goes a long way with these blushes. They are really pigmented!

Highlighter
The least I use since I have oily skin. When I do use it, I love how it's subtle and buildable. You can have a fresh, glass skin glow and at the same time, build it up to glam and blinding cheeks. The highlighter's shimmers are not that large and I don't notice my pores being emphasized.

For the face swatch, here's a rosy makeup look using the eyeshadows, blush, and highlighter included in this palette:

Final Thoughts
For the price of Php275, the product is DEFINITELY WORTH IT. It's a must-have on your everyday kikay kit as it gives you everything you need from eye makeup to face makeup. It performs well beyond its price. I'm so glad that I was able to try it soon and ever since I did, I use it pretty much every day.

Pros:
  • Cheap
  • Eyeshadow: Pigmented when applied using fingers. Stays the whole day (Palaban from 5AM to 7PM) given that I have oily lids and I didn't use any primers. The shimmer shades are creamy!
  • Blush: Pigmented. Stays the whole day on top of a gel blush
  • Highlighter: Buildable and doesn't emphasize pores
  • Flexible color selection. Useful for day to night makeup look.
  • Travel-Friendly
  • Careline is a cruelty-free brand

Cons:
  • Powdery matte shades.
  • Using a brush, the shades are not that pigmented but, they are buildable. I use my finger on applying my everyday eye shadow so it's not necessary for me.
